What if I'm Pregnant?
Testing Confirmation
First things first.
Are you really pregnant?
Test results from a urine pregnancy test can be positive or negative for many reasons. A doctor is the only one qualified to make a diagnosis as to why a test is positive or negative and whether a pregnancy is "viable" (meaning the pregnancy has a good chance to continue without miscarriage.) Medical studies have reported that "non-viable" pregnancies are common. That means, many pregnancies will most likely end in miscarriage. So, it's important to get confirmation from a doctor to make sure you really are pregnant and the pregnancy is "viable".
Life Hope/UTREND provides free of charge, the following help you'll need to confirm a pregnancy.
- Self-administered pregnancy tests
- Referrals for medical and insurance help
- Referrals for a free ultrasound for positive tests (with pregnancies between 8 and 13 weeks where a nurse performs an ultrasound scan and a doctor reads the scan and confirms a pregnancy, determines the viability of the pregnancy, and determines the estimated gestational age of the baby. This tool alone has been reported to help some women avoid unnecessary worry, unnecessary medical procedures, and has helped some make more informed decisions.)
